Services

Tree inventory

Inventories are customized to the clients needs. Mapping individual trees, identifying species, size, management needs, developing a prioritized list of needed work, available planting spaces in a given area, quantifying dollar values of the trees themselves, how much the trees contribute to the area in avoided storm water costs, and other ecosystem values.

Hazard tree evaluation

Living with trees has many benefits but also can include some hazards. The only way to completely eliminate the hazards is to eliminate the trees and this is a drastic step that can be avoided by evaluating the trees, identifying the problems and developing a management plan to mitigate problems. Having a management plan in place and following it also helps protect you from claims of negligence.

Tree appraisal

Tree owners sometimes need to know the dollar value of their tree(s) in connection with insurance claims or legal cases. Did your neighbor cut down one of your trees without your permission? I can help determine the dollar value of your claim.

Tree management plans and contract review

Management plans are a natural extension of the inventory and hazard evaluation steps. There is always more work to be done that immediate resources can handle. A management plan allows you to take care of the most immediate needs, then develop a budget of time, money and other resources to care for all the trees. Implementing large plans requires planting and maintenance contracts. I can help both in the contract writing process and by inspecting the work to ensure the trees have been planted and cared for correctly. It is far better to take the time at the beginning to plant trees correctly instead of replanting replacements a couple of years later.

Insect and disease diagnosis and treatment plans

The first step in treating a tree for an insect or disease problem is an accurate diagnosis of the pest. Many times a tree will look bad but the actual cause takes some detective work. Treating symptoms without knowing the real cause is just wasted money and time.
